If you’ve ever thought, “I’m not sure if acupuncture is for me,” you’re not alone.
Many of the people who walk through the doors at Remedy Acupuncture are brand new to this kind of care. Often, it’s something they’ve considered only after trying many other options—or something a friend gently nudged them to try.
Whether you're here because you're dealing with chronic pain, stress, migraines, or digestive issues—or you’re just curious—this guide is for you. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, informed, and supported as you explore whether acupuncture could be right for you.
What Happens When You Come In?
Your first visit is focused entirely on you. We’ll start by talking about what’s been going on in your body and in your life—everything from your main concern to sleep, stress, digestion, energy levels, and more. This helps me see the big picture and understand how everything is connected.
The treatment itself takes place in a quiet room where you can relax. Many people are surprised by gentle acupuncture feels. The needles we use are extremely thin—about the width of a human hair—and most people feel little to no discomfort at all. Once the needles are placed, you’ll rest quietly (many patients nap!) for about 30 minutes.
What Does It Feel Like?
Everyone experiences acupuncture differently, but common sensations include a dull ache, warmth, or heaviness at the needle site—these are good signs that the body is responding. More than anything, people report feeling calm, centered, and deeply relaxed.
After your session, you may feel refreshed, sleepy, or lighter. Some patients notice improvements right away, while others experience gradual changes over a few treatments.
Will It Help My Issue?
Acupuncture supports the nervous system, regulates stress response, and promotes circulation—all of which can play a role in how we feel physically and emotionally. That’s why it’s used for such a wide range of issues, from joint pain and migraines to anxiety and fatigue.
If you're not sure whether it can help with what you're going through, feel free to ask. I'm always happy to talk through your concerns and make sure it’s a good fit before you commit to care.
It’s Normal to Be Nervous
Starting something new—especially when it involves your body—can bring up questions or even a little hesitation. That’s okay. My goal is to offer care that feels safe, respectful, and rooted in real understanding.
